Accelerated Pathway to the CIA Certification

The IIA offers two fast-track CIA Challenge Exam options tailored for professionals who already hold qualifying certifications:

1. CIA Challenge Exam for Qualified Accounting Professionals
This exam is available to active Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) and Chartered Accountants (CAs). It focuses only on the CIA topics not previously covered in the CPA or CA certification process.

2. CIA Challenge Exam for Certified Information Systems Auditors
Holders of an active Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) credential can opt for this version, which excludes content already addressed in the CISA exam.

To be eligible for the Accounting Body Challenge Exam, candidates must be current members of one or more recognized professional bodies. A letter of good standing from the relevant body is required before applying.

This pathway enables experienced professionals to earn the CIA designation in a shorter time by leveraging their prior qualifications.
